Dealing with Emotions
Weary at the Jordan
Absalom dethroned King David. The King became an isolated fugitive, running for his safety. We read that the King and his subjects “arrived weary at the Jordan.” In this journey of tears, we see David’s maturity in responding to His trials in a healthy way that teaches us how we can be refreshed in our moments of sorrow.

The Angry Leper

The Angry Leper

Naaman made a long pilgrimage to find freedom from his ailment. When he arrived at Elisha’s house, the prophet’s response to Naaman’s request made him angry. From this story of Naaman the Angry Leper, we learn that God is not just in the business of healing our diseases and solving our problems. He also wants to change our characters and make us fit for heaven. Anger should not be our response to God’s will for our lives, but a willingness to follow His instructions. When we do, then we will experience His restoration as we follow the path of peace.
